BRAVE CONVERSATIONS
The Intersection of Yoga and the World
Episode 5: Living a Multi-Hyphenated Life
Along with fellow teachers Jessica Seid and Deepika Dabhi, we dive into an honest conversation about Asian American identity within the landscape of yoga. I share my personal journey in finding yoga and open up about how my struggles inform the way I serve and show up in the world. I also touch on the key teachings that have become integral to my evolving human experience - self honesty, self inquiry, compassion, inclusivity, deep listening, living with purpose.
This episode was released March 2021, coincidentally, against the backdrop of growing violence and discrimination towards Asian Americans. I know I’m not alone in feeling that my past encounters with racism didn’t deserve attention. Giving voice to our experiences is a powerful agent for change, and it starts with each person feeling empowered to speak up and share their story.
